The Stay-Local 5-Star World Cup Experience
he final countdown to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 has begun!! For the first time ever, the event is to be held inthe Middle East so not only is the occasion going to be monumental for Qatar, but also for the wider region.
With five-billion people expected to tune into the tournament, it’s the perfect opportunity for the Middle East to show just how great a destination it is for tourists.
Beyond Qatar, to the east, lies my home city Dubai, which is famed for its luxury amenities, and like Qatar, offers easy access, an innovative outlook, and a welcoming attitude to foreign visitors.
The Dubai Events Security Committee (ESC) recently met with Dubai Sports Council (DSC) and other government and private entities to review the emirate’s readiness to ensure the safety, security, and satisfaction of football fans residing in or visiting Dubai during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which starts on November 20.
So, if you're looking for a luxurious football inspired winter break, here are my top places to check out in Dubai and Qatar.
The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina
Set on a private stretch of beach in the Dubai Harbour neighbourhood, the luxury resort is a unique destination for leisure, dining and entertainment. The property boasts 294 spacious guest rooms and suites, 10 food and beverage venues, extensive conference and banqueting facilities, including an outdoor amphitheatre, and an indulgent spa and gym. Directly next to the Westin, a fully air conditioned stadium is being built on Barasti beach at Le Meridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort, in Dubai, a popular spot for sporting fans.
Atlantis, The Palm
No trip is complete to Dubai without a visit to the infamous Atlantis, the Palm. Nestled between the calm turquoise waters of the Arabian Gulf and the majestic Dubai skyline, Atlantis, The Palm is the crown of the world-famous Palm Island in Dubai.
W Dubai
If you’re familiar with the W brand, you’ll know that the property’s interiors reflect the cultural and historic aspects of the surrounding area. In this hotel, guests will find alobby inspired by the Middle Eastern gold souks, as well as a welcome deskinspired by the romanticism of a snake charmer.
Mondrian Doha
Fora luxury experience closer to the action there is no greater place than the, Mondrian Doha in Qatar itself. Located in a bustling entertainment and shopping district, Mondrian lights up the stellar Middle Eastern city with a vision of contemporary style and sophistication unlike any other.
Here at Studio 104 we have worked on a number of projects in the Middle East, a place where luxury can be seen around every corner. Some of our favourite bespoke uniform projects have taken place there, from the magical Mondrian Doha designed by Marcel Wanders to the custom-made wardrobe for the KBBO private jet.
