A Ruby Celebration: 40 Years of Elegance at London Marriott Grosvenor Square
n the 10th of July, Studio 104 had the honour of taking part in a truly momentous occasion — the 40th anniversary of the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square, the very first Marriott to open in the UK and a defining landmark in the brand’s European journey.

A Night to Remember
The Ruby Anniversary event was a glittering celebration of four decades of excellence, heritage, and innovation. From the moment guests stepped onto the red carpet, they were immersed in a world of sophistication and celebration. The evening dazzled with exquisite cocktails, exceptional cuisine, and live entertainment — all set against a striking Ruby Red theme, symbolising the passion, strength, and vibrancy that have defined the hotel’s legacy.

A Historic Icon Meets a Fresh New Look
Situated beside the storied Grosvenor Square in the heart of Mayfair, the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square remains a beacon of timeless charm and modern elegance. As the third Marriott hotel to open in Europe and the first in the UK, it holds a special place in the brand’s global story.

Recently, the hotel has undergone a remarkable transformation. The new-look lobby blends classic townhouse charm with Art Deco flair, featuring geometric tiling, warm brass accents, and an abundance of natural light — creating a truly welcoming space.

At its heart is The Luggage Room Lounge, a relaxed, all-day venue. Though distinct in character, both the café and bar are now connected through a seamless day-to-night concept. During the day, guests can enjoy café-style environment, while in the evening, the space transforms into a luxurious, low-lit speakeasy. Entered discreetly through the Luggage Room door — complete with a knock for admission — the bar invites guests to indulge in high-end cocktails in an atmosphere steeped in 1920s glamour.

Additional areas have been revitalised, including the elevated M Club Lounge, state-of-the-art meeting rooms, and a serene semi-private courtyard. These spaces join the hotel’s exceptional dining line-up, featuring Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill and Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay.
A Tailored Tribute by Studio 104
Studio 104 is proud to be part of this exciting new chapter, having recently launched new uniforms for the hotel’s Front of House, Concierge, and Doorman teams. These designs are a sartorial tribute to the hotel’s rich heritage and refined setting, blending traditional British tailoring with a modern design perspective.

Highlights include:
· Bespoke printed ties, pocket squares, and brass pin badges, inspired by Grosvenor Square’s history and location
· A refined colour palette reflecting the surrounding gardens and architectural heritage
· Tailored styles from our 104 Collection, featuring ticket pockets, peak lapels, melton under collars, and double vents — timeless details that pay homage to classic British tailoring

Every element has been carefully considered to complement the hotel’s refurbishment, striking the perfect balance between tradition and transformation.
Playful yet polished accessories bring individuality to each role, reflecting the unique personality of the hotel and the character of its team.
