The Quality Control Process

W

ithin any manufacturing industry the quality control process is a key stage in delivering a successful product. Here at Studio 104 we recognise this, and our in-depth QC inspection procedures are a crucial part of our service when delivering high quality uniform to our clients.

Why is the QC Process Important…?

Although research, design and fabric selection are essential and perhaps the more glamorous parts of a luxury uniform project, the behind the scenes elements of the development and production are key to building a successful brand that customers will come back to. And the quality control process is central to this.

A successful QC process will ensure garment performance and longevity, reduce risk of returns, which in turn ensures client satisfaction.

Identifying potential risk factors early in the development of a garment can also reduce waste and increase productivity and efficiency during production.

The Process…

During the development process all Studio 104 quality standards are re-conveyed to our suppliers again through our technical packs and sample comments. This is also when any areas of potential risk during production are highlighted so that they can be eliminated before production starts.

During production, Studio 104 have a constant presence either on-site or virtually with our suppliers when in-line inspections are carried out throughout the manufacturing process. This is done randomly, and areas checked include garment make up and measurements.

When production is nearing its final stages, a sample of production units are sent from the factory to the Studio 104 team. These garments are reviewed for measurements, construction, labelling and packaging, and if all ok, approval is given to the factory to ship production.

A final inspection then takes place of 100% of garments at the factory and results logged before shipment is made to the Studio 104 warehouse.

When the stock arrives at the warehouse, each unit is counted, and a portion of units are selected from the shipment to be inspected individually.

Studio 104 have partnered with their warehouse for many years and they are fully up to date with the high standard that Studio 104 pride themselves on.

The Studio 104 warehousing facility will have all documentation and if required garment samples ready when the production is due to be received, so that a fast turnaround but also in-depth inspection can be carried out. The inspection process at the warehouse includes a full count and a random AQL inspection, checking measurements, garment make up and quality, and all labelling requirements. Once the inspection is approved, the units are re-packaged and delivered to our clients. Even if there is even a small variation in quality, then a 100% inspection is carried out and measures taken to rectify before the shipment is released.
