Learn How To Measure Your Staff's Perfect Fit
he fashion industry is rapidly becoming one of the most innovative when looking to find easier and more dynamic shopping methods for its audience, and as a luxury uniform supplier Studio 104 is no different.
Brands have started in the last few years introducing sizing charts and measuring guides to their websites, and more recently videos on how to measure yourself to find the perfect fit have also started appearing.
Client happiness is ultimately the end goal when delivering any product, and in the designer uniform industry it is even more imperative as uniform, although key to the overall design aesthetic, is just one part of an overall big and sometimes complex launch.
Calculating sizing and delivering the correct fit is a huge element of this, so any techniques that we can utilise will therefore make our roll out process smoother and more efficient.
With everything above in mind, the natural progression was for Studio 104 to put their knowledge and expertise into an accessible format, and create a ‘How to Measure’ film to roll out on their website to help aid existing clients when placing orders for new starters, but also to give guidance to new clients.
On the day of the shoot, the studio was transformed from our working space to a film studio for the day. Everyone had a huge amount of fun and each team member played a part in the design and production of the film, with a massive amount of in-depth research carried out beforehand.

Once filming was complete, the editing began. Working closely with the production company we transformed the films into an instructive and visually straightforward format. Choosing music and text that worked well with the Studio 104 brand.
Our original goal was to produce a film that was both informative, but also very user friendly and true to our brand. We feel we’ve achieved this, and for us as a brand this is just the start to exploring new avenues to improve the client experience within garment fit and stock utilisation.
Looking to the future, there are already new tools in the early stages of development which can potentially aid us as a bespoke uniform supplier in continuing to deliver the perfect fitto our clients.
Smartphone Apps are in the early stages of development, and airport style body scanners are also being used for some fashion brands.
However, we need to be mindful that we are a bespoke uniform brand and not a fashion retailer. There can sometimes be sensitivities with employees around measuring, and high technology isn’t always the answer. Often a more personal approach is preferred, and at Studio 104 we are the experts in our field at this so although we will continue to research new technologies, we will always keep true to our ethos of a bespoke uniform service from design through to delivery.
