Dining at NoMad Hotel London

A

s a gift for my birthday recently, the team at Studio 104 surprised me with an unforgettable dinner at one our client's freshly launched hotels, in the heart of the London's lavish Covent Garden - The NoMad London.

Whilst the process of seeing the bespoke designs on the final fit model is extremely rewarding, there’s no comparing it to seeing a room full of people in their uniforms in the space where they were designed to be worn.

The NoMad hotel uniform was a bespoke commission designed just before my arrival at Studio 104, so I felt like I had a really fresh view of the uniforms during this experience and really got to see it from a consumer perspective.

The uniforms for the atrium staff showcase a colour palette of blues and strong greens. The standout piece, a saturated green dress with a tie waist and asymmetric seam details which reflect the angles within the NoMad logo.

Along with taking in the uniforms, we also had some divine plates of food and took a few photographs of the stunning interiors. The décor is contemporary yet timeless with shades of green and hints of pink that are enhanced by the bright, plant-filled atrium.

Adding to its elegance, each and every seat has a perfectly karate chopped cushion, at all times. It was actually quite satisfying to watch the attentive staff complete the rounds of cushion chopping after guests left and made me realise their white lace up footwear were not only a contemporary edge to the waiter’s uniform but an essential part of its practicality too.

After a cocktail and some of the tastiest little drop peppers and olive bread we took a look at the main menu. We tried the Suckling Pig and the Monkfish, with the Affogato dessert to finish.

Whilst we’re not experts in the world of food it certainly blew us away and the experts over on the Samphire and Salsify blog seem to agree. They write a fantastic food focused blog based in London and have a story highlight dedicated to their trip to NoMad on their Instagram if you want to check out more of NoMads signature dishes!
