Uniform inspiration from New York Fashion week

New York Fashion week has snuck up on us all this winter, bringing us some luxury uniform inspiration!

We particularly enjoyed Tommy Hilfiger’s show which took on a Cruise Liner theme, transporting us to the ocean with some floating dresses and other nautical pieces. We love this military jacket and cape. These pieces are really inspiring, bringing a traditional nautical theme to a classic tailored jacket with a fresh twist.

Our designers take traditional aspects like these and project them onto a luxury uniform to be worn daily. The Tommy Hilfiger show reminded us of our range for the Mondrian London, where our designers created these modern nautical styled uniforms for the luxury hotel. These blue paneled pieces are smart and modern but practical with the nautical twist.

Lots of other shows have given us inspiration for our uniform designs including these prints from Oscar De La Renta which would not be out of place in a luxury hotel uniform range.

We love to use intricate prints to really bring a uniform to life, in our Savoy hotel range we designed a beautiful bird print to line the Thames Foyer tailoring which was inspired by a story from the hotel’s rich history. (Read more about the importance of research and the story behind the Savoy Thames Foyer bird print here) The colorful birds really brought to life the whole uniform, allowing a glimpse into the Savoy history through this bespoke uniform.

Here are some of our favorite pieces over this week, including Zac Posen’s take on the classic tailored jacket. We love these longer jackets with the slanted opening that again add a modern twist to a classic tailored coat. The black detailing and the larger buttons mean these jackets really stand out but still scream sophistication for a working environment.
