Taking uniform inspiration from London Collections: Men AW 2015

We were so excited to see the beautiful tailoring in the menswear collections, and how relevant many were for hospitality uniform design. This seasons London Collections: Men lived up to the hype this year, with presentations displaying the finest menswear talent. London comes alive at fashion weeks, and the atmosphere around the city was a promising sign of the designs to be presented.

Since the final show yesterday, the Studio 104 team has been delving into the catwalk images, and discussing our favorite looks, and how they can inspire hospitality uniform. Here are our highlights from this years LCM AW presentations.

Lee Roach:

As we keep an eye out for any tailoring trends, Lee Roach surprised us with this beautifully minimalist collection. The wrap trend is embraced with the tie belt which is very popular in womenswear this Autumn Winter. Traditional tailoring elements like lapels and buttons are removed which reminds us of traditional Japanese clothing, minimalist tailoring is not to be ignored when designing a hospitality uniform!

Joshua Kane

This collections reminds us of our longstanding client The Savoy, and their quintessentially British service. Once Joshua Kane’s collection caught our eye, we fell in love with the beautifully simple monochrome palette. Classic tailoring is done meticulously, which allows for the houndstooth weave to look so right in an all over suit.  The round shirt collars and Edwardian waistcoats bring the Gentleman back.

Alexander McQueen

‘Truth, Honour, Valour’ Sarah Burton’s AW15 collection is just what we have been waiting for – Sharp tailoring with alot to say. Our favorite looks from the collection feature a dark floral print enveloping the tailored jackets and coats. The swift panel curves flatter the male form. We are making notes!

Tiger of Sweden

Tiger of Sweden is new on our radar, and they caught our eye this season with their beautiful metallics and simple aesthetic which runs through their AW collection. Firstly we noticed their skinny lapels, and they look great with sharp traditional white shirt and black tie. The trousers are rising up the waist in menswear, and this Tigers of Sweden is a great example of how suit trousers can be updated with an interesting belt.

We weren’t only watching the catwalk this year, the attendees of the shows really upped the ante this year, here are our favorite guys! (unsurprisingly, David Gandy has made our cut!)
