Just one more fabric fair! Exploring today’s Textile Forum Fabric Show
Today our buying team headed towards Regent’s Park to search for next season’s fabrics. It is important we stay aware of new trends in fabrics & trims, and the best way to do this, is to chat with the wonderful agents!
The show was inside the stunning grade 1 listed One Marylebone, and featured a great selection of fabric mills, from Pongees’ beautiful silks, to GH Leathers’ luxury furs and leathers.
As a uniform design studio we are constantly on the look out for our staple fabrics including crisp shirting, wool suiting and polyester satins. However now and again it is great to look at embroidered fabrics & furs to use as inspiration for a new client. These furs are 100% polyester, and according to the agent are machine washable and very durable! -Two major factors that we consider when chosing a fabric for a uniform.
Milan Fashion week comes to mind with these furs, because the likes of Prada and Gucci added fur patches to their collection to add a whimsical and fun touch to their tailoring.
Furs weren’t the only fun fabric we found, these beautiful tweeds are a great example of how splashes of bright colours are added to neutral fabric in the weave or in prints to create a great spring summer fabric.
After browsing through rails and rails of fabrics, we left the fair feeling inspired and excited to develop some of these great fabrics into our upcoming hospitality uniform designs!
